Public Plantings
From 1997 to date, the FDS has developed over 20 public plantings of daffodils in regional communities in north Florida and south Georgia. Plantings range in size from a drift of 4,000 Carlton daffodils in a city park, to a clump of 25 N. italicus species daffodils in the garden of a house on the National Register of Historic Places, to mass plantings on college campuses.
Daffodils for public plantings have been funded by membership dues and proceeds from membership bulb sales. Public daffodils are our way of contributing to our communities.
The FDS wants to keep planting!
We need your help!
Organizations interested in sponsoring (or receiving) a public planting should submit a proposal that includes the sponsoring organization’s name, the recipient organization’s name, a contact person at the planting site, and the long-term care and maintenance plan for the planting. The FDS will provide a reasonable quantity of bulbs.
