Georgia Daffodil Society - Public Plantings

Entitled “Spring is Bustin’ Out All Over,” this year’s daffodil show is a standard daffodil and design show (approved by the American Daffodil Society and the National Council, Inc.), and is co-sponsored by the North Georgia Council of Flower Show Judges (www.gardencentral.org).

The 2008 show will be held the afternoons of Saturday and Sunday, March 15-16, 2005, at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, in Day Hall. Admission is free with paid entry to the Atlanta Botanical Garden.

Show times are 2:00pm – 5:00pm on Saturday, and Sunday 1:00pm – 5:00pm.

The show has daffodil stems for judged exhibition, floral arrangements, and educational displays on historic (“heirloom”) daffodils.

First-time novices may bring daffodil stems to show, and all are eligible to win ribbons. These gardeners will receive assistance in identifying and staging their flowers from GDS members. We request novices wishing to show become members of the GDS to help defray supply costs (a nominal $10.00).

A Beginner’s Workshop will be held for visiting gardeners to bring in their unknown daffodils for identification and to ask any other daffodil question they may have. This event is on Saturday, from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in Day Hall.
